If your home needs fixing,
help exists.

The Screener

Find programs that fit your situation.

We don't collect your name, exact income, address, or any ID numbers. Buckets and yes/no only. You'll call the program yourself when you're ready.

Step 1 of 8
Do you own the home that needs repairs?
Most repair programs are for owner-occupants. Some cover renters if the landlord consents.
What's your ZIP code?
We use this only to check your county and whether your area qualifies for USDA rural programs. Not stored with your results.
How many people live in your household?
Include yourself and everyone who lives with you and shares income. This determines your income limit for programs.
Roughly what is your household's yearly income?
We'll show you ranges based on your county. Pick whichever bucket fits. No exact numbers needed.
Does anyone in your household…
Select all that apply. These unlock specific programs (senior grants, veteran programs, etc.). Voluntary — skip any you'd rather not answer.
Have a member age 62 or older
Have a veteran of the US military
Have someone with a disability
Include an enrolled tribal member
What kind of repair do you need?
Pick all that apply. If you have an emergency — no heat, no water, unsafe to live in — mark the emergency option.
How urgent is this?
Is your property in a designated historic district?
Downtown Ponca City and several neighborhoods are on the National Register. If unsure, say "not sure."
Your Matches

Here's what may fit.

These are programs you likely or possibly qualify for based on what you told us. This isn't an official determination — each program will confirm eligibility when you apply.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked.

Is this an official application?

No. This tool helps you find which programs may fit your situation. The programs themselves — USDA, ODOC, VA, your tribe — decide if you qualify when you apply directly with them.

What do you do with my answers?

We store anonymous aggregate data — "how many Ponca City residents searched for roof help this month" — so the Mayor's office can see where needs are greatest. We don't collect your name, address, exact income, SSN, or any ID. Your individual answers are not shared with any program.

Why does "likely" not mean "guaranteed"?

Eligibility rules change, funding runs out, and programs have discretion. We give our best match based on published rules. The program office makes the final call.

What if I'm not in Ponca City?

Most programs are federal or statewide, so this tool works for anywhere in Oklahoma. Our local administrator contacts focus on Kay County and the surrounding area.

I'm not low income. Is there anything for me?

Yes — the FHA 203(k) rehabilitation mortgage and historic tax credits are income-unrestricted or favor higher income bands. VA programs are based on service, not income.

I'm a landlord with a run-down property.

This tool focuses on homeowners, but Historic Tax Credits and some CDBG commercial programs may apply. Contact Ponca City Community Development at (580) 767-0339.
